Not Really. I more like English. But I didn’t get enough grades to choose the major I like on my college entrance examination. I only got enough grades to choose Business Management as my major.

I will join this work & Travel program first. After I finished this program and come back to Taiwan. I'm going to do my military service.

I don’t know yet. But I think I will figure out.

I’m twenty-four years old

Because I dropped out of high school . There was a period of time. I didn’t want to go to school. I just wanted to play. Having fun. I think I was kind of lost. After I wasted a period of time. Someday I realized I only finished Junior High education. It’s hard to find a job. So I decided to go back to school until now.

There are 2 people in my family, including my mother and me. I come from a single-parent family. My parents got divorced when I was five. Now I live in Taipei city with my mom.

My mother treats me very well. I remember when I was 12 . I wanted to go to a signer’s concert. But the concert was in Hong Kong. My mother still took me to the concert. She really is the best Mom in the world. I am so lucky.

My name is Jacob. I am A Taiwanese. I’m twenty four years old. I come from a single-parent family. Now I live in Taipei city with my mother. I am a fourth grade student of SHIH CHIEN university. I majored in Business Management. My friend thinks that I am a Kind, friendly, and easy going person. I enjoy listening to music , going to a movie and hanging out with friends in my free time. Now I work in the customer service department in Chunghwa Telecom company. The major work of my job is to answer the question about company law and teach clients to establish a company. And now I wish I can join this program.

I have been to Thailand twice and China three times, including Hong Kong, Macau, and Shanghai. (Expo)

There are many showplaces in Macau. But I am not interest in showplace. It’s a board place.

I more like Thailand. Because everything is so cheap. I bought many clothes there.

I love shopping. There is a biggest flea market in the world in Thailand. You can buy almost everything there.

Hong Kong is a very small and congested city. There are so many people in this city. The prices of commodities are kind of expensive there.

Shanghai is a very beautiful city with a long history. There are so many beautiful building in Shanghai.

I want to travel to Italy and Paris. Because those are very beautiful and romantic places.

17. 為什麼想參加這個計畫(why do you wanna join this program?)

In order to experience American life style and learn local culture, there are many opportunities to conversation with American. So I can improve my English and make new friends. So I decided to join this program.

Also I think it’s a great program. Not only I don’t have to cost a lot of money to travel in American, but also I can gain more work experience .

18. 為什麼想來美國?

I always have a thought of traveling to American. Specially New York City. Because there are so many movie scenes in New York City. When I was seeing those movies, I usually was wondering maybe one day I could really stand there and watch the Time Square. Window shopping on Fifth Avenue, take a walk in central park. But traveling to New York City really costs a lot of money. So I never take action. Until I found this work & travel program. So this program really helps me.

I will go to see the Time Square, EmpireStateBuilding, Statue of Liberty, RockefellerCenter, and central park. There are so many places I want to go to.

I expect I can improve my English, gain more work experience, and acquire ability of problem solving from this program. Also I wish I can become independent.

After I finished work I hope that I can travel to New York, LA, and San Francisco.

Yes, this is my first time to travel alone. I am very excited but a little nervous.

I’m nervous Because this is my first time travel alone which mean I have to handle everything by myself.

I am excited because I can travel to New York city.

I already have told my Mom. She approves of this program and signed the paper. She also thinks it’s a great program. Because not only I don’t have to cost a lot of money to travel in America, but also I can gain more work experience, and learn local culture and lifestyle.

No, I don’ have any friend or relative in American.

I am willing to try and learn everything new. So I think I will accept all the job that they give me.

Because I used to be a server in a traditional Taiwanese food restaurant for one year. The major work includes clean the restaurant and toilet. Also I do housework at home. So I have experience in cleaning. I have confidence to do this job well.

I used to be a waiter in a traditional Taiwanese food restaurant for one year. And now I have worked in the customer service department in Chunghwa Telecom company for two years.

Yes, I love my job.

My company provided valuable training . I learned to solve clients‘ problem and took company low classes too. Also I learned to be patient. When I was trying to help customers to solve their problems. I had to be patient. So I think I really learned a lot from my job.

The major work of my job is to answer the phone call.

I have to answer the question about company law and teach clients to establish a company.

Ministry of economic affairs outsources my company.

The major work of server is to greet guests, take orders, place dishes on the table, provide table service, and clean the restaurant.

31. 最喜歡這工作的哪個部份最令你有成就的部分

I always feel great after I solved customer’s problem.

Because I think helping people is a great thing. It really makes me proud and happy.

I learned company low and acquired ability of problem solving. I also learned to be patient. Because when I was trying to help customers to solve their problems. I have to be patient.

I think it should be to solve customer’s problems and make your client feel happy and satisfied.

I will still accept that. Because that’s my duty. I will still try to do my best.

I would say that I have passion. And I am responsible. For example. I usually go off work at 5:30 pm, but one time, it was already 5:30 pm, and the phone started to ring. I still answered the phone and helped my customer until 6:30 pm. I am not only hard-working, but also easy-going. And I am willing to meet challengeand learn everything new.

I already have worked in the customer service department in Chunghwa Telecom company for two years. And I used to be a server in a traditional Taiwanese food restaurant for one year. So I have the experience of customer service.

For example. I usually go off work at 5:30 pm, but one time, it was almost 5:30 pm, and the phone started to ring. I still answered the phone and helped my customer until 6:30 pm.

I think I should try to talk to them. Because we still have to work together. In order to be a better team mate. I will ask him that have I done anything to offend him? If I did I will apologize to him.

I think I will stop fighting. Let everyone calm down. And then I will try to talk it over and talk things out.

If he is a client, I will endure it. Because he is a customer. Customers are always right. But if he is a co-worker, I will tell him if I have ever done anything to OFFEND him. I will apologize to him. But if I didn’t do anything. Please stop being rude.

I think I will stop him from doing that. Because such behavior is stealing.

工作面試

1. 喜歡台灣的哪個城市

TaipeiCity is my favorite. Because it’s my hometown. It’s the place where I born and grow up. My family and friends all are there. I have so many memories in this city.

2. 介紹台灣

Taiwan is a very small island next to China. If you come to Taiwan. I will recommend that you should check out some of the top landmarks in the capital city of Taipei, including Taipei 101 (it is the tallest building in Taiwan), the National PalaceMuseum, and Taipei night markets.

Specially Taipei night markets. There are many tasty and unique traditional dishes in the night markets. Such as stinky tofu, Pearl milk tea (Tapioca ball tea), Braised pork rice and Fried rice with egg. Those are very tasty food. If you try them just once you will remember it forever. I hope you can come to visit our country one day.

No, I have never been to American. This is my first time.

4. 你清楚工作內容嗎?可不可以簡述一下。

Yes I have already read the job information. I have to Clean rooms, restrooms, transport trash to disposal areas, Dust and polish furniture, and Sweep, scrub, wax, floors. Something like that.

I remember before my current work started. I had to learn company low first. It’s pretty hard and difficult for me. Learning company low was making me feel frustrated. I even thought maybe I can just quiet. But I didn’t give up eventually. I still finished the course and work until now. I'm proud of that.

I think I will choose English as my major. To compare with other subjects. English is more interesting than the others for me.

English is my favorite course. I don’t like accounting the most. I think it’s difficult and boring. English is more interesting then accounting.

I usually go to work to save money for tuition during summer vacation.

My strongest skills are handling complaints with great patience. I think solving customer complaints is a wonderful way to win customer loyalty, and I am happy to deal with any problems people may have.

But if you think negative. Then the bad things will come to get you. It's call the Law of attraction-the science of attracting more of what you want and less of what you don't. Read this book can help me to improve myself. It’s a great book.

I’m not sure you can call that a talent or a skill. But I love singing.

I love action movies. Because action movies are exciting. Transformers is my favorite.

Beyonce is my favorite singer. I love her songs. And her voice is awesome.

28. 在台灣旅行是去哪裡玩?

I have been to Kenting several times. It’s the southern part of Taiwan.

Kenting is a place for you to see the Blue sky and the wide sea. You can play volleyball on the sand or swim in the blue ocean during daytime. After that, you can go shopping in Kenting Street at night. If you have opportunity to travel to Taiwan. You should come visit to Kenting.

29. 工作結束後打算去哪玩?

I’m planning to travel to New York city, Los Angels, and San Francisco.

30. 遇到難纏顧客怎麼辦?可否舉個例子?

I think I will still be patient and nice to serve my client. And Help him to solve their problems. Because that’s my job also my duty. I should be professional, responsible and deliver great customer service.

I will ask customer like “what can I do to ensure your satisfaction?

It will calm them down as they think about what you can do for them, and chances are they will then become much more reasonable.
